Camille is honored to be named one of the inaugural Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellows, which recognizes a select group of eight artists from across the US. The honor was announced by Kennedy Center President Deborah Rutter and Co-Hosts Renée Fleming and Yo-Yo Ma at the recent Kennedy Center Arts Summit in Washington, D.C. As a Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellow, Camille will continue to work with the Kennedy Center, performing and promoting new artistic initiatives and collaborations for the Center. Camille is thrilled to be included in the Kennedy Center’s celebration of JFK’s centenary, emphasizing the ideals John F. Kennedy set forth during his Presidency: courage, service, justice, freedom, gratitude, exploration, and innovation.

The life of the arts, far from being an interruption, a distraction in the life of the nation, is very close to the center of a nation’s purpose – and it is the test of the quality of a nation’s civilization.
– President John F. Kennedy, 1962
