Film “Music of Strangers” with Yo-Yo Ma & Silk Road

Camille is honored to continue her collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma and artists of The Silk Road Ensemble with “The Music of Strangers”, the new documentary film by Academy Award-winning director Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom). The film profiles Yo-Yo Ma and his Silk Road collaborators — master musicians from around the world brought together to perform, collaborate, brainstorm, and explore. Camille’s performance in the film, in collaboration with acclaimed pianist/composer/gaita-ist Cristina Pato, showcases the music of Spanish composer Enrique Granados (1867-1916), whose untimely death (his ship was torpedoed by a U-Boat following a concert tour) robbed the world of an important compositional voice.
At the Lincoln Plaza Cinemas premiere of “The Music of Strangers,” Camille joined another of the film’s featured artists, Kevork Mourad, for a post-screening Q and A with the invited audience.
